SUPERVISOR OF TELEMARKETING <br />(Saint Paul, Minnesota) <br />Together with the Supervisor, responsible for the operation of a 30 person telemarketing department. <br />Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training new calling staff, supervising and motivating <br />current staff, and developing training materials. <br />November 1989 - December 1989 <br />Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra: TELEMARKETING MANAGER <br />(Saint Paul, Minnesota) <br />Directed a six week campaign, comprised of 8 -10 telemarketers, selling packages of orchestra performances. <br />January 1988 - August 1989 <br />Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC): BROADCAST JOURNALIST / ASSISTANT PRODUCER <br />(Thunder Bay, Ontario) <br />Contributed weekly features on a freelance basis until September 1988. At that time I became Assistant <br />Producer of "Voyage North," a two hour regional broadcast program. <br />Responsibilities included identifying and researching stories of local and regional interest; scheduling items <br />for broadcast; editing tape; liaison with syndicate service in Toronto; and maintenance of contributor records. <br />Also responsible for in- studio directing of program. While production of the program was my primary <br />responsibility, I also contributed regular features for broadcast. <br />August 1985 - June 1988 <br />Magnus Theatre Company: DIRECTOR OF COMMUNICATIONS <br />(Thunder Bay, Ontario) <br />Responsible for directing all areas of publicity involving theatre activities, including promotion of theatre <br />productions; subscription renewals; theatre school; and fundraising events. <br />Duties included writing and distribution of media releases; purchase, design and scheduling of advertisement <br />for print and electronic media; arranging and providing interviews for local and national media; promoting <br />recognition of the theatre company generally and theatre productions specifically to local and national media; <br />organizing and directing telemarketing campaigns. <br />Duties also included public speaking; liaison with Board of Directors; advertisement sales for house program; <br />supervision of lounge staff as required; photography as needed. <br />Page 11 <br />
