Office of:
JOEL R, HANSON, Administrator
515 Little Canada Road
Little Canada, MN 55117
612484.2177
FAX: 612.484.4538
CITY OF LITTLE CANADA
RAMSEY COUNTY, MINNESOTA
MEMORANDUM
TO: Park Commission
FROM: Joel Hanson, City Administrator
DATE: May 4, 1990
RE: Request for Additional Fees
RVK Architects
MAYOR
Mich/self/01.y
COUNCIL
Beverly Sc.Iie
Bill Blesener
Rick Callove
, Jim LeValle
Attached is a request for additional architectural fees from Mr. Dick
Krumm in the amount of $3,267 relating to the Pioneer Park recreation
building. Due to my lack of familiarity with the project and based
on your involvement with the project, I would ask that you make a
recommendation to the City Council regarding this request. Mr.
Krumm's fees up to the agreed upon amount have been scheduled for
disbursement.
Upon reviewing this request, I would recommend that you address the
following issues:
* If recommendation for approval is made, documentation should
be provided in your resolution indicating the basis for this
decision.
* You may also want to address any additional architectural
compensation issues which could arise resulting from the
completion of this project. If Mr. Krumm has already
exceeded his maximum fee, will any additional compensation
be requested for construction monitoring, payment request
processing, change orders, etc.? From the City's
standpoint, it may be best to specify these arrangements
now, if not already addressed, rather than be faced with an
additional bill at the end of the project.
Your recommendation will be presented to the City Council at their
meeting of May 23, 1990. Thank you for your attention to this
matter.
JRH:kpv
Enclosure
PAGE 52
