League of Minnesota Cities
April 26, 1990
To:
183 University Ave. East
St. Paul, MN 55101 -2526
(612) 227-5600 (FAX: 221 -0986)
Member cities and agents, LMCIT Property /Casualty
Program
From: Property Valuation Service
On March 12, 1990, we sent cities a memo announcing a low -cost
valuation program that we have established with the assistance of
American Appraisal Associates. Since a number of the cities
needed more time to complete their worksheets and to gain
authorization, where needed, from their city councils, we have
extended the response date. If you elect to take advantage of
this one -time opportunity, please complete the earlier worksheet
or the attached copy and return it to American Appraisal by May
21, 1990. The address is shown on the bottom of the form.
As a reminder, American Appraisal has provided this insurance
pool service to cities and other government entities in many
other states. A major reason for the low cost of this service is
the efficiency realized in providing the service to a number of
government entities at one time. We anticipate that the service
will be offered at this time only and will be performed during
June and July of this year.
The League of Minnesota Cities has tested American Appraisal's
service and has found it to provide the values needed for
accurate insurance placement. There are a number of benefits to
having an insurance appraisal done including avoiding over or
underinsuring your buildings and contents.
For more information on this service, please refer to my earlier
memo, call me at the League office, or call Patti Fish at North
Star Risk Services (612- 861 - 8616).
Page 47
