Mayor Fahey and Members of the City Council <br />June 22, 1990 <br />Page 2 <br />* Deadline Dates -- Presently, we have a deadline for submission <br />of articles for printing of six weeks before our newsletter <br />is delivered to our residents. This prevents us from <br />getting timely information regarding upcoming events. We <br />have discussed this with various printers and have determine <br />that we can have a deadline whereby we submit our articles <br />to the printers approximately two weeks before the <br />newsletter is due out. This gives us an additional four <br />weeks upon which to obtain articles and information. <br />In light of these changes, we have also been evaluating the cost of <br />printing the newsletter. At Wednesday's meeting, we will have at <br />least two quotations available for your consideration regarding <br />printing costs. Based on the information we received to -date, we <br />believe it is possible to save a minimum of $200 per newsletter over <br />our present arrangement. This is a result of changing the type of <br />paper we utilize as well as staff utilization. Once our quotes are <br />submitted, it would be my recommendation that we accept the quote <br />which best serves the City considering price and service. <br />I would welcome your comments on this matter as well as on your <br />interest in serving on the editorial committee. <br />JRH:kpv <br />PAGE 142 <br />
