Apri1.10 » 1990 <br />To: Little Canada City Council <br />Frpm::Ll:tle::Canada 1990; Census Complete Count Committee <br />The Little•Canada 1990 Census Complete Count - Committee has <br />completed the task of encouraging the citizens of Little <br />Canada to cooperate in completing and returning the census <br />form. The last meeting of the committee was held on April <br />10, 1990. • <br />The committee coordinated and completed the following <br />activities: <br />- Roseville High School National Honor Society students <br />delivered and posted approximately 100 posters in <br />businessess in our. city. • <br />- .March 17 was chosen•as'theday.to distribute door hangers, <br />encouraging residents to complete and return the census, to <br />persons living ln-apartments, condominiums, •townhomes and <br />mobile homes in our city. Organizations looking for <br />community service..proj'edts.were contacted to help with this <br />distribution. Girl. Scouts, Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts and <br />Roseville High School National Honor Society members <br />volunteered their time from 9 - noon to distrubute the door <br />hangers. :The City of Little Canada provided donuts and <br />Burger King (in Little Canada) donated orange drink for the <br />volunteer workers to enjoy after their morning's work. Over <br />2500 door hangers were distrubuted in every apartment, <br />trailer park, condominium and townhome neighborhood in the <br />city. <br />- The remainder of the residences in our city were notified <br />in the following manner: <br />- The committee placed 3 articles in the North Suburban <br />Press, explaining just what an accurate census count <br />could mean for our city. <br />- The next issue of the Little Canada newsletter will <br />include an article encouraging census participation. <br />- A line was included in the most recent sewer bill <br />calling attention to the census. <br />- A recent issue of the North Suburban Press contained <br />a Census "staffer ". <br />- St. John's Church cooperated with our request to <br />encourage their parishoners to complete the census. <br />- %In addition, a Ramsey County Census Representative <br />addressed a recent meeting of the Little Canada 55+ Club. <br />- March 29 was chosen as the day that the job placement test <br />for Census workers was given at Little Canada City Center <br />
