Hanson, City Administrator
RE: Opticon System for Traffic Signal at Rice Street and
Little Canada Road
MAYOR
Michael Fahey
COUNCIL
Beverly Scalze
BIM Blesener
Rick Collova
Jim LaValle
The State of Minnesota would like to finalize the agreement relative
to cost sharing arrangements between the State, Roseville, and Little
Canada for the installation of opticon at Rice Street and County Road
C. In doing so, they asked the status of installation of this system
at Rice Street and Little Canada Road. (Previous Council minutes
indicate Roseville would not participate in any cost sharing for this
location. I was unable to determine the City's final position on
this matter.)
In discussing this matter with Fire Chief Frank Graczyk, he informed
me that the Fire Department feels we should install the opticon
signal switching system for Rice Street and Little Canada Road for
westbound utilization. He also indicated the Fire Department's
willingness to pay for the City's share of the costs.
Therefore, the Council needs to provide us with direction on this
matter relative to Rice and Little Canada Road so we can inform the
State of Minnesota.
Page 101
