PERFORMANCE REVIEW INSTRUCTIONS
A performance review is a means of providing an employee with
feedback concerning his /her abilities and performance in fulfill-
ing the duties of the job. It also gives both the employee and
the supervisor an opportunity to discuss roles and functions of
their respective positions. It should be an opportunity to im-
prove the working relationship, for the betterment of the
employee and the city.
It is intended and required that both the employee do a self ap-
praisal and the reviewer accomplish a performance review an the
employee. Then after setting up a time to get together the two
compare their respective reviews. Differences are then discussed
towards a consensus of opinion. Once accomplished the review of
consensus shall be signed by both the reviewer and the employee.
The reviewers opinion will be the final opinion in the review but
the employee is encouraged to rebut these remarks if he /she feels
the comments are in error or another viewpoint needs to be
presented. It is hoped that a consensus can be reached as
cooperation and teamwork lead towards a better work environment.
