Olson
Enclosed is a letter from Kathy Roettger of Ramsey County, concerning two (2)
maintenance projects that the County proposes to complete this fall. The
County is requesting cost participation from the City on both projects
The first project is for the construction of a manhole on County Ditch 7B on
County Road D. Currently, an opening exists within the city storm sewer in
the south ditch line of County Road D. The improvement calls for the
placement of a catch basin over the opening.
We feel that the City does benefit by the improvement in that the project
eliminates what is currently an unsafe condition associated with the city
owned storm sewer system. We recommend that the City participate in the
improvement with funding assistance for materials in the amount of $1200.
The second project is for the placement of a catch basin in a low area in
front of 2560 Edgerton. The catch basin is proposed for the drainage of a low
area that currently floods due to street runoff.
Even though we are in favor of the placement of the catch basin to eliminate
the yard flooding, the City does not benefit directly from the improvement.
Therefore, we recommend that the City not participate in this project as
requested.
We request that the Council authorize the assistance in funding for the
installation of a catch basin along County Road D in the amount of $1200.
Very truly yours:
BONESTROO, ROSENE, ANDERLIK & ASSOCIATES
Michael C.
