October 24, 1990
Mr. Joel Hanson
Administrator
CITY OF LITTLE CANADA
515 East Little Canada Road
Little Canada, MN 55117
CARLEY- TORGERSEN, INC.
70 West County Road C.
Suite 703
Little Canada, MN 55117
(612) 484-3301
In. response to our telephone conversation about your letter to David Claypool,
R.L.S., Ramsey County Surveyor, on September 14, 1990, there seems to be some
confusion as to what is a Registered Land Survey.
A Registered Lard Survey is a recordable instrument just like a plat and has
the same effect but is less expensive to produce. It is especially useful on
a piece of property that abuts an existing platted street and can only be
used on Torrens property.
The City of Little Canada has many Registered Land Surveys, the latest being
Registered Land Survey No. 412 by Harry S. Johnson Companies, Inc., recorded
July 25, 1985, which is a similar situation.
Please reconsider your decision. If you have any questions, feel free to
call. Thank you.
David E. Torgersen, P.L.S.
President
DET /kt
(sage 14
