* Survey cross section work is needed to determine extent of grading and
to verify locations for excess material.
* Sandy Amich's lot is need of extra fill material.
4. * Tree is half dead and is in the ditch line. The city could remove it.
5. * Drainage ditch may not be within the easement. (Appears to be pushed
onto the west side properties.)
* Tree line is on the property line.
* City may need easements extended to the west to correct the situation
otherwise trees must be removed.
6. * Two property owners have placed a cmp culvert for drainage and have
filled in the ditch.
* City may need easements extended to the west.
* Some fences are on property line and some are on the easement line.
7. * Ditch line may not require perforated pipe.
* This area drains well, but the ditch is not maintained.
We present the following recommendations for your consideration.
* Survey critical elevations of the culvert inverts and length of the
ditches to determine optimum grade of the ditch. Determine the profile
of the existing ditch and cross section areas where extensive grading is
required.
* Determine whether or not the existing and proposed ditch lies within the
ditch easement or if the easement needs to be extended.
* Determine policy for placement of storm sewer in order to fill in the
ditch.
* Determine policy for fence placement and replacement within drainage
easements.
* Consider the placement of perforated pipe to remove standing water in
order to dry out the ditch area so that residents can keep the ditch
maintained.
* Review existing storm sewer intakes for safety and performance.
* Determine a policy for removal of trees in ditch line that inhibit sur-
face drainage.
* Determine an assessment policy for placement of improvements or mainte-
nance of the ditch.
Page 2.
Page 89
