Minutes <br />'City Council <br />May 24, 1989 <br />Organized <br />Collection <br />(cont.) <br />its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 89 -5 -218 - AUTHORIZING OUR SOLID <br />WASTE ADVISORY COMMITTEE TO BE AUTHORIZED ON <br />BEHALF OF THE CITY TO NEGOTIATE AND CONCLUDE AN <br />ORGANIZED COLLECTION CONTRACT WITH THE FOUR <br />REMAINING LICENSED HAULERS, EXCLUDING POOR <br />RICHARD'S, WITH A RATE OF $14.08 FOR THE 90- GALLON <br />CONTAINER PLUS TWO BAGS; $10.58 FOR THE 90- GALLON <br />CONTAINER; $9.21 FOR THE 60- GALLON CONTAINER; <br />$7.83 FOR THE 30- GALLON CONTAINER WITH ADDITIONAL <br />CHARGES FOR EXCESS ITEMS STILL TO BE NEGOTIATED AS <br />WELL AS THE RECYCLING CHARGE TO BE EFFECTIVE AS <br />SOON AS POSSIBLE WITH A 3-YEAR CONTRACT FROM THE <br />DATE OF SIGNING <br />introduced the following resolution and moved <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by <br />Ayes (5) Blesener, Collova, Fahey, LaValle, Scalze. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />Mrs. Scalze asked Mrs. Tipler if the Committee would like to <br />study developing a plastics ban ordinance. Mrs. Tipler said <br />that she would mention it to the Committee. <br />Mrs. Tipler indicated that some of the Committee members are <br />thinking of resigning from the Committee. Mrs. Scalze <br />stated that the City could advertise for more members in its <br />quarterly newsletter. Mrs. Tipler indicated that she will <br />not be a member much longer because she is moving. <br />Mrs. Tipler felt that the Committee should look for a new <br />leader. <br />Venetian Mr. Vitale, a representative from the Venetian Inn, appeared <br />Inn Boxing before the Council requesting approval of an outdoor boxing <br />Match match to be held at the Venetian Inn. Mr. Fahey asked if <br />Mr. Vitale was going to have the match policed and <br />Agenda supervised. Mr. Vitale indicated that they would have Park <br />Addition Security policing the event. Mr. Vitale stated that if the <br />event was rained out, it would be rescheduled. <br />Mrs. Scalze asked if they were going to use the Market Place <br />for extra parking. Mr. Vitale said that they did have <br />permission to park at the Market Place. <br />Page 24 <br />
