Minutes <br />1 City Council <br />May 24, 1989 <br />Organized <br />Collection <br />(cont.) <br />introduced the following resolution and moved <br />its adoption: <br />/SOLUTION NO. 89 -5 -216 - TEMPORARILY REQUESTING <br />THE EXISTING HAULERS IN THE CITY TO PICKUP SINGLE <br />FAMILY RESIDENTIAL REFUSE AND RECYCLABLES <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by <br />Ayes (5) Blesener, Collova, Fahey, LaValle, Scalze. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />Mrs. Tipler indicated that the multiple family units would <br />need service also. Mrs. Tipler felt that these units should <br />be put out for bid. <br />introduced the following resolution and moved <br />its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 89 -5 -2 - CALLING FOR BIDS TO BE <br />V TAKEN FOR RECYCLING PICKUP FOR t1ULTIPLE FAMILY <br />UNITS <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by <br />Ayes (5) Blesener, Collova, Fahey, LaValle, Scalze. <br />Nays (0) . <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />Mr. Fahey asked if Mrs. Tipler was still negotiating with <br />the two major haulers on a price. Mrs. Tipler indicated <br />that she was still negotiating. Mr. Fahey asked if there <br />would be a reduction in collection costs if residents <br />recycle. Mrs. Tipler indicated that in the past there was <br />because of the markets that were available, but she felt <br />that this was not the case anymore. <br />Page 23 <br />
