MINUTES <br />CUP TO ALLOW <br />REHAB. <br />CENTER <br />KANDICE <br />HEIGHTS III <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />MAY 9, 1991 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular <br />meeting of the Planning Commission of the City of <br />Little Canada, Minnesota was held on the 9th day of <br />May, 1991 in the Council Chambers of the City Center <br />located at 515 Little Canada Road in said City. <br />Chairman Gene DeLonais called the meeting to order at <br />7:30 P.M. and the following members of the Commission <br />were present at roll call: <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: Gene DeLonais <br />Dave Bendel <br />Claudia Drabik <br />Steve Garske <br />Art Herkenhoff <br />John Keis <br />Bob Pedersen <br />ALSO PRESENT: Steve Grittman, City Planner <br />Kathy Glanzer, Rec. Secretary <br />There being no corrections to the minutes of the April <br />11, 1991 meeting, the minutes stood approved as read. <br />Mr. Loren Brueggemann, LEB Development, appeared before <br />the Commission requesting approval of a Conditional Use <br />Permit to allow Northeast Contemporary Services, a <br />rehabilitation center providing job training for <br />disadvantaged and /or handicapped adults as a tenant in <br />the Kandice Heights Phase III building. Mr. <br />Brueggemann reported that this firm has been located in <br />the St. Paul Business Center for the past 15 years. <br />Brueggemann explained that the firm provides vocational <br />training for the mentally disadvantaged, both in <br />classroom training and work environment. Brueggemann <br />reported that companies within the Twin Cities area <br />provide projects for these people to do, and then <br />reimburse them for it. <br />DeLonais asked if this operation were similar to the <br />Developmental Achievement Center, which has existed in <br />the City for the past several years. <br />Page 1 <br />
