Hanson
COUNCIL
Beverly Scalze
Bill Blesener
Rick Collova
Jim LaValle
ADMINISTRATOR
Joel R. Hanson
After meeting with the haulers on Thursday, May 16, 1991,
part of the discussion concerned exemptions from the
recycling charge when people go out of town on vacation.
At this point in time, the haulers would be willing to
approve exemptions for vacations only. Since there is no
trash pickup, the people would not be putting out
recyclables either. However, the exemptions that we give
for people who own a business here in Little Canada would
not be exempt from the recycling charge as many of the
commercial routes who recycle are set up to take just
cardboard or office paper and are not set up to take cans,
glass, etc.
I recommend that the Mayor and Council approve exemptions
from recycling to coincide with the trash exemption for
people who are on vacation.
DBH:kpv
P"600" "60
