MINUTES PLANNING COMMISSION AUGUST 8, 1991 Bendel pointed out that the purpose of the Conditional Use Permit process is to require businesses to come in and give the City the details of what they want to do. DeLonais pointed out that under the Ordinance a restaurant could not have outdoor tables. DeLonais also pointed out the cost of going through the CUP process. Bendel pointed out that rarely is a CUP denied,, however, the process gives the City control. It was the consensus of the Commission to table action on this matter pending additional information to be obtained by City staff as to how surrounding cities handle the matter of outdoor sales /displays. RYAN DeLonais reported that he recently toured Ryan INDUSTRIAL Industrial Park and felt that the first step towards PARK cleaning up the Park would be to improve the streets in the Park. DeLonais stated that the streets in the Park have never been adequate, and it was time that the City addressed the matter. DeLonais pointed out that there has been discussion that the City does not own the street, however, the City has issued building permits in the Park. DeLonais reported that the streets are sa bad that the Fire Department would prefer not to take their vehicles on them. ADJOURN The City Planner reported that the City owns the street right -of -ways in Ryan Industrial Park. However, the streets were never constructed to City standards, therefore, the City did not accept the streets. The Planner reported that the issue of street improvements has been discussed in the past, however, the property owners were not willing to pay for the improvement. It was noted that the matter is on the agenda for discussion at the August 14th Council meeting. Drabik recommended the meeting be adjourned. Motion seconded by Pedersen. Motion carried 6 - 0.
