/fi e ?mod %Li awned <br />RESOLUTION 91 -115 <br />WHEREAS, The Prairie Island Community Council has the authority under <br />tha provisions of the Indian Reorganization Act of 1934 (49 <br />Stat. 984), and is governed under the terms of a <br />constitution and bylaws adopt.d by the Tribal members on May <br />23, 1936, and approved by the Secretary of the Interior on <br />June 20, 1936; and <br />WHEREAS, Northern States Power Company has been operating on land <br />adjacent to the Prairie Island Indian Community for over 18 <br />years; and <br />WHEREAS, The Prairie Island Tribal Council has been recognized by <br />N.S.P. as the governing body for the Prairie Island Indian <br />Community; and <br />WHEREAS, The Prairie Island plant does not contribute to the Prairie <br />Island Indian Community in any just way, <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Prairie Island Tribal Council <br />goes on record opposing N.S.P.'s request for a certificate of need to <br />construct an on -site temporary storage facility for spent nuclear <br />fuel. <br />CERTIFICATION <br />This resolution was passed at an executive meeting of the Prairie <br />island Tribal Council with a quorum present with a vote of 5 <br />for, 0 against, _ abstentions, on 11/19 , 1991. <br />PRESIDENT /DALE R.
