4.04t katc) <br />CITY OF FALCON HEIGHTS <br />RECREATION AND CO NUNITY SERVICES DIRECTOR <br />KIND OF WORK: Planning, supervision and coordination of Falcon Heights recreation <br />and parks program, community information services and other projects as assigned. <br />DIFFICULTY AND RESPONSIBILITY: Under limited supervision and procedural controls, <br />plans and carries out programs and services to meet the needs and interests <br />of Falcon Heights residents. The individual is accountable to the City Clerk <br />Administrator with liaison relationships with the City's Parks and Recreation <br />Commission, Cable Commiittee, City Public Works Staff, and other community <br />individuals and groups such as Roseville Area Schools Community Education <br />Program Staff and Advisory Committee and city residents. Responsibilities <br />include recruitment and supervision of part -time employees necessary to <br />carry out programs. <br />RESPONSIBILITIES: <br />A. PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT: <br />1. Coordinate, plan and implement a year round comprehensive <br />recreation program based on assessment of the community <br />needs and interests. <br />2. Give leadership in developing annual and long range plans for <br />Falc.or. Heights recreation and park development programs. <br />3. Solicit human and financial resources for park and recreation <br />program when appropriate. <br />4, Be responsible for disseminating public information via Cable <br />TV, newspapers, city newsletter, program brochures, etc. <br />5. Coordinate registration policy, procedures and fee structures for <br />all recreation activities. <br />6. Attend all Parks and Recreation Commission and City Cable Committee <br />meetings. <br />7. Work with the Parks and Recreation Commission to develop and keep <br />current the five year Capitol Improvement Plan for City Parks. <br />B. ADMINISTRATIVE /OFFICE MANAGEMENT /STAFF PERFORMANCE: <br />1. Supervise all city recreation and Cable TV staff (volunteer and paid). <br />a. Recruit and coordinate the hiring of seasonal employees <br />in consultation with the Parks and Recreation Commission <br />according to EEO policies and city personnel procedures. <br />b. Provide training and orientation for all staff and <br />volunteers. <br />c. Conduct performance reviews and evaluations of all programs <br />and staff. <br />d. Develop and maintain communication with other city staff <br />members. <br />C. BUDGET AND FISCAL: <br />1. Prepare the assigned portions of the city budget proposal. <br />a. Prepare a tentative budget. <br />b. Confer with relevant others (city administrator, commissioners, <br />etc.) regarding budget propo al. 25 <br />
