PRIMARY OBJECTIVES OF POSITION <br />The primary objectives of this position are to plan, organize, develop, coordi- <br />nate and supervise a system of parks, recreation areas and facilities, bikeways, <br />recreational programs and a forestry program. <br />C. Coordinate and initiate information between W <br />department and City Council, Parks, Recrea- <br />tion & Forestry Commission, other governmental <br />agencies, citizens, citizens groups, newspapers <br />"and''other "staff'depaitments: " '" <br />- Research and prepare reports and mans on a <br />timely basis. <br />- Meet with various groups and committees. <br />- Review input from various sources with staff <br />and Commission. <br />- Communicate information via brochures, news- <br />papers, public appearances, and other media. <br />10% A 2. Acquire parks and recreational areas and <br />facilities. <br />W <br />- Prepare, submit and administer grants to State <br />and F,cleral agencies. <br />- Negotiate and coordinate purchase of real <br />estate for parks. <br />- Coordinate and administer joint power agreements <br />with other governmental agencies. <br />- Coordinate with Planning Staff to administer <br />public use dedication ordinance. <br />- Coordinate use of school buildings with the <br />Community Education Departments of School Dis- <br />tricts 621 and 623. <br />Page 45 <br />
