MINUTES
Parks & Recreation Commission
April 6, 2006
Our Park Maintenance Supervisor Brad Volk just accepted a new job as a deputy for the
Washington County Sheriff's Department. Parks Maintenance Worker/Programmer Derek
Anderson has been promoted to fill the opening created from Brad's absence. Part-timer
Matt Mallory has been hired full-time on asix-month trial basis to fill Derek's part-time
parks maintenance position and to assist the Public Works Departnent with some of their
needs. The City is in the process of finding someone to fill the part-time parks programmer
position formerly held by Derek.
Ramsey County and St. Paul recently partnered in a skateboard demonstration put on by Earl
F. Anderson. Derek and the Director attended to get an idea of what may work for our
needs.
The Little Canada Recreation Association has been successful in their recent charitable
gambling endeavor at the bingo hall. The Director stated that he will talk to them about
making the skateboard park first priority for funding.
Registrations are still being accepted for t-ball, pop-up, and softball.
