Sanders felt this matter
warranted further discussion by the Commission since the property abuts the City's walking
path located under the power lines. The property owners were present and stated that they
would prefer to leave their property intact. The Commission felt that enough land had been
acquired for the existing walking path so there was no need for additional property in this area.
Also, the power line easement in the area would ensure that no construction would occur in
close proximity to the path. Sanders stated that the only real reason to acquire additional land in
this area would be to help with trail alignment once the hail continues on the other side of Payne
Avenue.
