MINUTES
PLANNING COMMISSION
JANUARY 9, 1992
TIME PERIOD
FOR FILING
AND RECORDING
PLATS
VACANT
PROPERTIES
OTHER
BUSINESS
The City Planner reported that it is the recommendation
of staff that the time period for filing and recording
property divisions with Ramsey County be extended to
six months. The current time period is 100 days, and
this is too short in order to process the necessary
paperwork.
Mr. DeLonais recommended that the time period for
filing and recording subdivisions or plats be extended
to six months.
Motion seconded by Drabik.
Motion carried 6 - 0.
DeLonais thanked Glanzer for the information she
provided on the Centerville Road and Country Drive
areas that was initiated by the Economic Development
Committee that was used to solicit prospective
developers. DeLonais suggested that there was
additional information on all vacant commercial and
industrial properties within the City, and requested
that Glanzer locate this information. DeLonais also
pointed out that the Economic Development Committee had
developed a brochure with the help of Jim Gustafson,
and suggested that this might contain a listing of all
vacant commercial and industrial properties. DeLonais
asked that this brochure be located. There may also
have been information compiled for past attendance at a
Metro East Development Fair.
Garske reported that he would be out -of -town next month
and unable to attend the February Planning Commission
meeting.
Herkenhoff asked if the addition that is going on the
house at Little Canada Road and the railroad tracks
meets City Code.
The City Planner replied that that particular property
is not in a non - conforming situation, therefore, the
50% rule that applied to the Favis property does not
apply in this instance.
DeLonais reported that with regard to the fence at that
same property, it is his understanding that the
property owner has entered into an agreement with the
railroad covering the location of his fence on their
property. Also, the fence along the front of the
property has been moved back so that it is in
compliance with Code.
Page 6
