MINUTES
PLANNING COMMISSION
MARCH 12, 1992
ADJOURN
Market Place had concern about security, and Rainbow
was concerned about the use of their parking lot in
particular. However, the petition was not against the
bingo hall.
LaValle disagreed and reported that the minutes reflect
that the petition was in opposition to the bingo hall.
Dick Pillsbury, CEO, Little Canada Charities Plus,
explained the situation last year when a dissident
group attempted to take over the operation of two of
the charitable organizations operating at the Little
Canada Bingo Hall. Pillsbury felt that it may have
been this group that expressed an interest to the
Market Place owners, but did not believe any of the
existing organizations are interested in relocating.
DeLonais pointed out that the application is not a
request to take the bingo hall license away from the
Little Canada Bingo Hall.
Keis recommended that the Conditional Use Permit to
allow the operation of a bingo hall at the Market Place
Shopping Center, 2900 Rice Street, be approved subject
to the recommendations of the City Planner as contained
in his report dated March 9, 1992.
Motion seconded by Drabik.
Motion carried 7 - 0.
Herkenhoff recommended that the meeting be adjourned.
Motion seconded by Pedersen.
Motion carried 7 - 0.
There being no further business, the meeting was
adjourned at 9:12 P.M.
Respectfully submitted,
n OV
Ka by G./. nzer
Recording Secretary
Page 13
