515 Little Canada Road,
(612) 484 -2177
Little Canada, MN 55117 -1600
/ FAX: (612) 484-4538
MEMORANDUM
TO: Mayor Hanson and Members of the City Council
FROM: Dave Harris, Supt. of Public Works
DATE: May 8, 1992
RE: Recycling Drop -off Center
MAYOR
Raymond G. Hanson
COUNCIL
Beverly Scalze
Bill Biesener
Rick Collova
Jim LaValle
ADMINISTRATOR
Joel R. Hanson
At the Council meeting held on April 8, 1992, an
announcement was made regarding the misuse of the
recycling center. Since that time, the situation has not
improved. I have now received a letter from Bellaire
Sanitation regarding the rubbish mixed in with the
newspaper and cardboard. I have attached a copy of this
letter for your review and I will have pictures of the
recycling center available at the Council meeting.
At this point in time, I feel that our options are few
since we do not have the money or the area to build an
enclosed recycling area. It is my recommendation that we
close the recycling drop -off center until we do have the
area and money to build fencing or until we can afford to
pay the disposal charges to Bellaire for the contaminated
recyclables at the center.
DBH:kpv
Enclosure
Page 20
