APO
92(114 w- earl1,
515 Little Canada Road, Little Canada, MN 55117 -1600
(612) 484 -2177 / FAX: (612) 484 -4538
MEMORANDUM
TO: Mayor Hanson and Members of the City Council
FROM: Joel Hanson, City Administrator
DATE: June 5, 1992
RE: City Hall Landscaping
MAYOR
Raymond G. Hanson
COUNCIL
Beverly Scalze
Bill Blesener
Rick Collova
Jim LaValle
ADMINISTRATOR
Joel R. Hanson
Specifications have been prepared for the landscaping of
City Hall and we are presently obtaining quotations. Final
quotations are due in Monday morning and we will have a
recommendation for landscaping and irrigation available for
Wednesday's meeting. We expect the total price to be less
than $20,000. (Please note that recent statutory changes
now let us obtain quotations for work under $25,000 in
value as compared to the previous limit of $15,000.)
We have also obtained proposals and instructed SKS Electric
to install three additional ornamental light poles in the
parking lot at a price of $1,017. (See memorandum
attached.) These light poles are on hand and were
scheduled to be installed at the fire station. Upon
further review, we have determined that it would be more
effective to place banner poles at the fire station and
leave the light poles at City Hall. As a result of this
project, we will also be removing all present electrical
poles on City property. The street light fixture that is
on the corner of Little Canada Road and Noel Drive will be
moved to the pole on the south side of Little Canada Road
with an extension placed for the lamp fixture to properly
light the intersection.
I would like the Council to ratify the expenditure of the
money for installation of the light poles and to award the
contract for City Hall landscaping. Should you have any
comments or questions regarding this matter, plans are
available at City Hall for your review.
JRH:kpv
Enclosure
Page 5
