Roseville Area Senior Program
1910 West County Road B • Roseville. MN 55113
Telephone: (612) 633-3997
Serving Arden Hills. Falcon Heights, Lauderdale. Little Canada. Maplewood, Roseville and Shoreview
October 21, 1992
Joel Hanson
City Administrator
Little Canada City Hall
515 Little Canada Road
Little Canada, MN 55117
Dear Joel,
As Executive Director of the North Suburban Senior Council, Inc., cosponsor of the
Roseville Area Senior Program, I am pleased to submit this proposal and information
packet for your review and submission to the Little Canada City Council.
As a designated community focal point, assigned by the Metropoplitan Council Area
Agency on Aging, the Roseville Area Senior Program provides a comprehensive range of
services and programs for senior citizens in this community. The enclosed packet
includes detailed information about each program area, but I do want to point out that the
Senior Program provides community -based services to residents in the school district
area, extensive educational programming, as well as social and recreational activities.
The Roseville Area Senior Program's mission is to provide quality services and
programs to senior citizens. However, as with many organizations, we are faced with
increased demand for services and programs while at the same time dealing with
reductions from funding sources to meet the needs. As the population continues to "age in
place" the demand for services and programs, especially those services which enable
more frail seniors to live independently in their homes, will become greater.
According to the 1990 census data, there are approximately 1,244 senior citizens 60
years of age and older living in Little Canada. Approximately 235 seniors from Little
Canada either participate in the programs or utilize the services offered through the
Roseville Area Senior Program.
Page 41
North Suburban Senior Council.
