It is with a spirit of cooperation and collaboration that the North Suburban Senior
Council Board of Directors submits this proposal requesting the City of Little Canada to
consider providing financial support for the Roseville Area Senior Program. We
anticipate our total funding needs to be in the range of $35,000 for this fiscal year.
Specifically we are requesting $3.50 per individual over the age of 60 in the City of
Little Canada, i.e. $3.50 x 1,244 = $4,354. This dollar amount represents less than
half the actual cost to serve the seniors in your community.
The requested funds would be utilized to subsidize the transportation and the Meals -on-
Wheels programs; for the Blockworker Project, which is an outreach program to
identify isolated older adults in neighborhoods; and to meet program budget needs.
The accompanying packet provides information about the budgeting situation of the
Roseville Area Senior Program. The Senior Program is cosponsored by School District
#623 and the non - profit organization, the North Suburban Senior Council. The NSSC
budget is completely separate from the District and they are never combined except to
show total resources for the Roseville Area Senior Program. Currently, there are
several resources that comprise the total funding base of the Roseville Area Senior
Program:
NSSC 148,525 49%
District #623 100,150 33%
Ramsey Cty. 27,000 9%
Federal 26,500 9%
Thank you for your serious consideration of our proposal. Should you have any further
questions, please call me at 633 -3997.
Sincerely, l
Lynhae LeBarron
Executive Director
North Suburban Senior Council, Inc.
cc: Al Nelson, President
North Suburban Senior Council
Page 42
