As you may know, the three city based organizations are currently
paying approximately $20. /sqft annual rent (or $674. per night, 7
nights a week), far more expensive rent than any space rented
for any commercial, shopping, office, residential purposes in
Little Canada.
However, NSYA, as we understand it, obtained the Lease instead
of Lake Owasso because NSYA agreed to pay $800. per night (appro-
ximately $24. /sqt annual rent) which Lake Owasso refused to.
In order to avoid any disruptive consequences of the lawful
gambling in the City, we believe the Bingo Hall rent shoud NOT
be UNchecked by the City Council when the current Bingo Hall
licensee enjoys monopolistic protection under the City Ordinance.
We also believe that an outsider organization should not gain
undue advantage over the City based organizations by offering
excessive rent payment which for them may be subsidized from
other operations outside of the City whereas the City based
charities have no such options to compete with the outside
organization.
We sincerely hope and respectfully request that the City Council
award the additional night available to our organization in
order to maximize the benefits and well -being of the citizens of
Little Canada. If necessary, we will be ready and happy to
discuss further in person on this matter.
Sincerely,
Frank L.
