STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES <br />SHORELAND GRANT AGREEMENT <br />THIS AGREEMENT is entered into by the State of Minnesota, <br />acting by and through the Commissioner of Natural Resources, <br />hereinafter referred to as the "State ", and the City of Little <br />Canada, hereinafter referred to as the "City ". <br />WITNESSETH: <br />WHEREAS, the State has been granted certain responsibility for <br />regulation of shoreland development, as provided by Minnesota <br />Statutes 103F.201 -221 and Minnesota Rules parts 6120.2500 through <br />6120.3900 pertaining to "Statewide Standards for Management of <br />Shoreland Areas "; and <br />WHEREAS, the State is authorized by the Laws of 1991, Chapter <br />254, Section 5, Subd. 3 to provide grant assistance for local <br />governments to adopt a shoreland management ordinance consistent <br />with these statewide standards; and <br />WHEREAS, the City has submitted an application for grant <br />assistance. <br />NOW THEREFORE, it is agreed by and between the parties hereto: <br />I. WORK <br />A. Local Government Responsibility <br />1. Shoreland Ordinance Adoption. Per Minnesota Rules <br />part 6120.2800, subpart 2., and before September 1, 1994, the City <br />agrees to adopt a shoreland management ordinance consistent with <br />statewide standards. <br />2. Ordinance Certification Checklist. Within the <br />adoption schedule described in 1. above, the City agrees to <br />complete all the tasks and return the attached Ordinance <br />Page 74 <br />
