Grabrick
2354 Greenbrier Circle
Little Canada, MN 55117
Dear Mr. Grabrick:
MAYOR
Raymond G. Hanson
COUNCIL
Beverly Scalze
Bill Blesener
Rick Collova
Jim LaValle
ADMINISTRATOR
Joel R. Hanson
In response to your letter dated November 14, 1992, please be advised
that the City is unable to issue you a building permit for the
addition you are proposing to your home prior to action on your
application for Variance and Conditional Use Permit by the Planning
Commission and City Council. Due to legal notice requirements, the
earliest that your application can be processed is at the December
10th Planning Commission meeting and December 23rd City Council
meeting.
While we appreciate the frustration you've experiences, we fail to
see how the City is responsible for dropping the ball on your
variance request made in 1988. The City Planner may have suggested
that you attempt to negotiate with your neighbor for the purchase of
some additional property rather than pursue the variance. However,
it was your responsibility as a property owner to pursue the variance
request if that appeared to be the only alternative.
We are sorry for any inconvenience the timing for processing your
application poses, but we cannot allow you to proceed with
construction at this time. Please be advised that should your
proceed with construction without the necessary approvals, the City
will be forced to red -tag the project and stop construction.
If you wish to discuss this matter any further, please feel free to
contact me.
cerely,
R.
