Mr. Joel Hanson, City Administrator
City of Little Canada
Page 6
in
City project 1984-13 (Bridge Repair) involves land acquisition, construction easements; and
signaling costs relating to the I -35B Bridge. Costs to date (December 31, 1991) total $220,406 as
shown below. Such costs and possible MSA financing for such costs are as follows:
Possible
Total MSA
Description Costs Financing
•Easements $63,705 $63,700
•Engineering 25,859 19,000
•Legal 65,784 None
•Appraisal 9,200 9,200
*Other 22,447 None
•Signaling 33,411 33,400
Totals $220,406 $125,300
The Bridge Repair project has been in process since 1986 and will not be finalized until acceptance
by the State. The City has yet to receive any MSA reimbursements for the above costs. I have
discussed this situation with Mr. Ken Straus at the State (296 - 1662). He stated that the City
should file for MSA reimbursement for the right -of -way costs incurred by the City. He also stated
that the City should n92 have to wait until this project is finalized by the State. We should discuss
this situation with the City Engineer.
The remaining Construction Deficits represent completed MSA projects which have not been fully
financed The proposed financial plan is to finance these deficits from the excess MSA allotments
from the Demont Avenue Project (i.e. the $242,000 transferred from the Storm Sewer
Construction Project in 1990 plus the additional $94,450 so transferred in 1991).
Page 37
