MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />August 2, 2006 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Parks & Recreation Commission <br />of the City of Little Canada, Minnesota was Held on the 2"`i day of August, 2006 in the Council <br />Chambers of the City Center located at S 15 Little Canada Road East in said City. <br />Chair Tony Mans called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. and the following members of the <br />Commission were present: <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: Mr. Tony Mans, Chair <br />Ms. Molly Boss <br />Ms. Pam Davis <br />Ms. Clara Neis <br />Mr. Kevin Steinert <br />ALSO PRESENT: Mr. Jim Morelan, Parks & Recreation Director <br />Mr. Bill Sanders, Parks Consultant <br />MINUTES Davis reconune~:ded that the minutes frofn the »:cetiug held on July 6, 2006 be approved as <br />submitted. <br />Motion seconded by Neis. <br />Motion carried S - 0. <br />VICE-CHAIR Mans stated that since David Gray resigned as a member of the Commission, a new vice-chair is <br />needed. Davis has mentioned that she would be willing to serve as vice-chair. <br />Mans reconunended accepting Davis as the new vice-chair of the Commission. <br />Motion seconded by Boss. <br />Motion carried S - 0. <br />DONATION Last month, a $1,000 donation was received from Patricia O'Neil. The Director stated that he <br />USE contacted Ms. O'Neil to ask if she had a specific use in mind for the donation. She said she hac <br />nothing special in mind and did not want to earmark the donation toward anything. He stated <br />that they discussed her daughter's participation in our soccer program and felt that the donation <br />could be placed towards youth athletics. <br />NADEAU Mans stated that a couple of months ago, a neighborhood meeting was held with the neighbors <br />WILDLIFE of the Nadeau Wildlife Area to discuss the possibility of adding an observation deck that <br />AREA would overlook the wetlands. The neighborhood was very much opposed to the idea. One of <br />the issues that arose out of discussions with the group was the concern that the wetland is in <br />need of maintenance due to excessive sediment.
