Mayor & City Council
November 18, 1992
Page 2
minutes for the tractor, 3 minutes for the skidsteer, and 1
minute for the front end loader. (This did not include
travel time from leaving the shop to get to the area of
cleaning.) The skidsteer has to be loaded on to a trailer
to be moved. The tractor could be driven. However, top
speed on the tractor is seven miles per hour. The front
end loader could also be driven and travels twenty miles
per hour.
The replacement cost for a tractor with a heated cab is in
the $45,000- 50,000 range depending on options chosen. The
dealers I spoke with informed me that they do not have the
quick connect option for mounting a reversible snow plow
thereby negating some of the winter time uses. The front
end loader is in the $70,000 - 75,000 range and that is with
a ten foot, two way reversible plow, block heater, strobe
light, radio, west coast mirrors, and a bostrom seat. In
addition, it comes with a one year full warranty and an
option on the five year extended power train warranty.
I am requesting authorization from the Council to write the
specifications to put this out for bid so that I may have a
more exact cost in time for the first meeting in December.
DBH:kpv
Page 48
