KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: <br />Considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of fund <br />accounting as well as auditing and budgeting theories and practices. <br />Knowledge of City ordinances and other legal requirements pertaining <br />to municipal operations, or the ability to acquire such knowledge in <br />a relatively short period of time. <br />Working skill in modern office practices, procedures and standard <br />office and accounting equipment. <br />Ability to implement sound accounting systems and procedures. <br />Ability to plan, coordinate, direct and review work involved in <br />varied financial and related activities. <br />Ability to analyze and interpret financial and accounting records, <br />prepare comprehensive financial statements and reports, and to <br />recommend and administer general controlling policies. <br />Considerable knowledge in the application and utilization of <br />micro - computers and related software, including LOTUS, payroll, <br />utility billing, accounts payable, and general ledger. <br />Working ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in <br />writing. <br />QUALIFICATIONS: <br />Associate's Degree in Accounting or a closely - related field. <br />Two to three years experience in accounting work with fund accounting <br />experience highly preferred. <br />More extensive experience may be substituted for some educational <br />requirements. <br />Page 12 <br />
