Phase V (Proposed 1993) <br />In 1993, the Conservation Pilot Program is proposed to be expanded to include: <br />1) Single Family Homes <br />a) Green House Program - Utilize the neighborhood meetings and'home <br />audits conducted by the Neighborhood Energy Consortium to include <br />the installation of water saving toilet and shower head devices. <br />(200 hones) <br />b) Audit and retrofit homes within several meter reading routes in <br />Saint Paul to determine participation rates, public cooperation <br />and logistics of a larger censervation program. (400 homes) <br />2) Apartment Buildings <br />Audit and retrofit fifteen 10 -15 unit apartment buildings in Saint <br />Paul and the suburbs that the Water Utility services and track <br />results to help convince the owners of all apartment buildings that <br />the installation of these devices is very cost - effective. <br />3) Schools <br />Audit and retrofit two Saint Paul schools to show the schools how <br />much water can be saved. <br />Following Phase V, we plan to have enough data to determine what direction the <br />long -term retrofit program may take. We will get more information on <br />participation rates, payback period and actual water savings. <br />Page 63 <br />
