Hanson <br />Attached is a copy of an agreement whereby the Minnesota <br />Department of Transportation will reimburse us or our City <br />Engineer in an amount not to exceed $5,000 for tuition and <br />personnel costs associated with the successful completion <br />of classes taken relative to their Technical Certification <br />Program. This program must be completed in order to be an <br />approved inspector for State Aid projects. Bonestroo has <br />asked us to execute this agreement in order that they may <br />be reimbursed for the cost of their staff to obtain this <br />certification. It should be noted that this money is in an <br />administrative account with State Aid and does not affect <br />the City's MSA allotments. <br />We are also checking on the possibility of having some of <br />our staff attend these training sessions. If we determine <br />that this possibility is warranted, these funds could also <br />reimburse us for those costs as well. <br />Therefore, it is my recommendation that we approve the <br />agreement as presented subject to the possibility of any <br />City staff attending this program if deemed appropriate. <br />JRH:kpv <br />Enclosure <br />Page 74 <br />
