LITTLE CANADA
PARKS AND RECREATION
DEPARTMENT
515 Little Canada Road / Little Canada, MN 55117 -1600
Telephone: (612) 484 -2177 / Fax: 484-4538
May 21, 1993
JIM MORELAN, Director
JACK FITZGERALD, Asst. Director
DIANE HUSAK, Asst. Director, Girls Activities
TO: Mayor Hanson and Members of the City Council
FROM: Jim Morelan, Parks and Recreation Director
RE: Senior Task Force
I have conducted four meetings with the Senior Task Force over the
past two months. At our last meeting it was decided to attempt to
identify the senior population of Little Canada for input into future
programming. This would probably be done through a series of focus
group meetings once the seniors are identified.
Through research done by City staff and the School District staff, it
has been decided that the best way to achieve this goal would be to
do a special mailing to Little Canada residents and have them respond
by return mail with their age and name, etc. The School District has
decided to share the costs of envelopes, letterhead, postage and
return cards with the City. Costs would be approximately $1,200.
The City portion would be about $600.
I would appreciate your participation in this endeavor. The task
force members feel this is the best way to achieve our goal of
determining the needs of our senior population in Little Canada.
If you have any questions concerning this matter, please contact me
prior to the Council meeting.
Page 97
