MINUTES
City Council
July 13, 1988
Boosalis Fahey replied that assessment issues have not been determined at this
Rezoning time. Fahey also commented that he felt the development proposal
Request submitted by Mr. Boosalis was a good one which satisfied the concerns
(Cont.) of Iona Lane and provided for residential development of the property
to the east of the commercial property along Rice Street. Fahey noted
that the question that will be left open is what happens to the back
of the three commercial properties along County Road C, and this issue
can be addressed at a later date.
Souchy felt that the property could be left as open space and a wildlife
area.
Blesener pointed out that the City cannot provide such an open wildlife
area that would be available only to the County Road C area.
Fahey commented that the City Council understands Mr. Souchy's objections
to the overall project.
Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 88 -7 -268 - CLOSING THE PUBLIC
HEARING ON THE REQUEST FOR PUD AMENDMENTS BY
REZONING FROM 8 -3, GENERAL BUSINESS, TO R -1,
SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr. Fahey.
Ayes (5) Blesener, Fahey, Collova, Scalze, LaValle.
Nays (0).
Resolution declared adopted.
This resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 20, Page 272.
Blesener reported that the Council has reviewed several development
proposals for this particular property in the last few years, and the
one before the Council is the best proposal he has seen. This proposal
will put residential development behind the Iona Lane properties.
Scalze pointed out that once the City rezones the Boosalis property to
R -1 it gives the indication that the other three commercial properties
will be rezoned to R -1 at some point.
Blesener agreed and stated that it is his intention that all the property
along the new street be zoned R -1.
Fahey agreed that R -1 was the best use given the lay -out of the area,
however, he is willing to listen to the property owners at the time
a rezoning may be proposed for the other three commercial properties
along County Road C.
Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
Page -3-
Page 52
