MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />JUNE 10, 1993 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular <br />meeting of the Planning Commission of the City of <br />Little Canada, Minnesota was held on the 10th day of <br />June, 1993 in the Council Chambers of the City Center <br />located at 515 Little Canada Road in said City. <br />Chairman Gene DeLonais called the meeting to order at <br />7:30 P.M., and the following members of the Council <br />were present at roll call: <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: Mr. Gene DeLonais <br />Mr. Dennis Carson <br />Ms. Claudia Drabik <br />Mr. Fred Schletty <br />Mr. Steve Garske <br />Mr. John Keis <br />Mr. Dan Knudsen <br />ALSO PRESENT: Mr. Steve Grittman, City Planner <br />Mrs. Kathy Glanzer, Rec. Secretary <br />MINUTES Mr. Schletty recommended approval of the May 13, 1993 <br />Planning Commission minutes as submitted. <br />Motion seconded by Keis. <br />Motion carried 7 - 0. <br />GAS N GO Mr. Vogt, owner of the Gas N Go Superette on Rice <br />SUPERETTE Street, formerly Speedy Market, appeared before the <br />SIGN Commission requesting approval of a sign height <br />VARIANCE variance. Mr. Vogt is requesting a 20 foot pylon sign <br />REQUEST while the Code requirements for the property in <br />question limit sign height to 16 feet. Mr. Vogt <br />submitted to the Commission a list of eight pylon signs <br />along the Little Canada side of Rice Street which <br />exceed 16 feet in height. <br />The City Planner pointed out that the Fina sign listed <br />by Mr. Vogt meets Code requirements, since the Council <br />amended the Sign Ordinance to allow operators of a <br />business directly adjacent to a freeway to have a pylon <br />height of 30 feet. <br />Page 1 <br />
