Director, Girls Activities <br />MEMORANDUM <br />TO: Mayor & City Council <br />FROM: Jim Morelan, Parks & Recreation Director <br />DATE: June 18, 1993 <br />RE: Capitol View Pool <br />As per your recommendation, I discussed the use of the <br />Capitol View pool with the Parks & Recreation Commission at <br />their meeting last night. It was the consensus of the <br />members present that the City should not participate in the <br />funding to bring the facility up to standards. However, <br />if 916 decides to proceed with the project, the Commission <br />would be interested in the Parks & Recreation Department <br />pursuing possible participation in the programming for the <br />pool. They did express concern with the ability to be able <br />to use the pool at full capacity based on information <br />received from surrounding communities stating that their <br />pools are not currently used to full capacity. They were <br />also concerned about the ability to offer convenient times <br />for residents to use the facility. <br />I intend to keep up with any future developments in regard <br />to this matter and will keep you informed. <br />JM:kv <br />Page 65 <br />- <br />
