Mss
Parks & Recreation Commission
May 20, 1993
The Director asked if any of the Commission members had any
questions or comments on the proposed policy. Fasciana
asked if the City has received any requests for field usage
that had to be turned down. The Director stated that the
only problem he encountered was with the adult usage this
year. He received several calls this winter inquiring about
adult softball openings. He told them that we would give
top priority to adult teams who had played here in the past.
The Director stated that ball play is growing in this area.
Last year there were 37 youth teams and this year they have
increased to 44. He also indicated that adult ball is
getting more popular. There will be a demand in the future
for more fields.
Johnson recommended approving the Field Usage Policy as
presented by the Parks and Recreation Director this evening
and as contained in his memorandum dated March 16, 1993.
Motion seconded by Fasciana.
Motion carried 5 - 0.
Page 69
