Mayor & City Council
March 16, 1993
Page 8
One of the biggest problems in attempting to maximize use of fields is
that adult scheduling has to be completed before the number of youth teams
is known.
Listed below are various options for the existing adult leagues and
foreseeable problems that exist with some of them.
Wed. Women Will possibly expand to nine teams. This will require same
fields as eight teams (one team will have a bye each week).
Will play approximately 14 game schedule. Propose to play
games at Pioneer as they did last season. They play one
game each per Wednesday using two fields at 6:00 p.m. and
two fields at 7:15 p.m. (The remaining two fields at
Pioneer are not scheduled on this night.)
Thurs. Men Will possibly expand to nine teams (same as Wednesday
women). Will play approximately 22 game schedule. Propose
to play games at Pioneer as they did last season. They play
two games each per Thursday using four fields at 6:00 p.m.
and four fields at 7:15 p.m.
Fri. Men Will probably expand to twelve teams. This will require one
more field. Will play approximately 22 game schedule.
Propose to play games at Pioneer, E -1 and E -2.
Possible options for adult game rescheduling.
Wed. Option A - P1 & E1 Both will create a co -use of youth & adult at
Option B - P1 & KNE Pioneer which I feel is not compatible.
Option C - El & KNE Prohibits safe use of KNW
Thurs. Option A - P1,P2,E1,CVL All will create a co -use of youth & adult
Option B - P1,P2,E1,KNE at Pioneer which I feel is not compatible.
Option C - P1,P2,KNW,CVL C also prohibits use of KNE.
Option D - Revert back to single game schedule per night (Only two
fields would be needed).
Fri. Option A - P1,P2,P3,E1,E2,E4
Option B - Revert back to single game schedule per night (Only three
fields would be needed).
As they relate to the parking problems at Pioneer Park, I do not feel any
of the above options would help to solve them without eliminating some use
of the facility on those nights. By eliminating that use, it creates a
demand elsewhere, and in several instances there is nowhere else.
Page 77
