SURVEY <br />CITY CENTER USE <br />Roseville - <br />The City of Roseville directs all requests for use of City meeting <br />facilities to the Roseville Community Center, feeling that this is <br />the appropriate place for this kind of activity. Only in an overflow <br />situation is the City Center used. <br />The Community Center is scheduled on a priority basis. <br />City- sponsored groups are given the highest priority and use <br />facilities at no charge. City - affiliated organizations such as <br />athletic organizations and community groups use facilities as the <br />second priority level at no charge. Non - profit non- resident groups <br />are third priority, and for - profit groups the last priority. These <br />two levels are charged for use of facilities, with for - profit groups <br />paying roughly 50% more than non - profits. Fees vary depending on the <br />facility being used. <br />Meetings are scheduled Mondays through Thursdays when there is a <br />building supervisor on the premises until 9 P.M. Meetings that run <br />later or on weekends pay an $8 per hour charge for the building <br />supervisor. Some City - affiliated organizations are trained in on use <br />of the security system and given a key for a meeting that they want <br />to hold when a building supervisor is not present. <br />Vadnais Heights - <br />Very limited use of City Center facilities. Townhome association <br />groups have been allowed use of a lower meeting room only when a City <br />Council, Planning Commission, or Parks & Recreation Commission <br />meeting is also being held. No keys are issued to members of the <br />association groups. The only other group that has used the City <br />Center is the Heritage Days Committee. <br />Maplewood - <br />Non - profit organizations are allowed use of the Maplewood City Center <br />at no charge. There is a building maintenance person on duty until <br />10 P.M. Mondays through Thursdays to allow access. Political groups <br />are allowed use of the facilities. Keys are issued allowing a <br />meeting when there is no building maint. person on duty depending on <br />who the person is being issued the key. <br />Shoreview - <br />Civic non - profit groups consisting of at least 50% residents use <br />Shoreview meeting room facilities at no charge. <br />Other resident groups pay $10.65 per room charge for 2 1/2 hours of <br />use, and non - resident groups pay $21.30. <br />Page 5 <br />
