Use of City Center
August 11, 1993
Page Two
City Center by individual political candidates representing the
Little Canada area would also be allowed for meetings at a $100
charge. Cable TV coverage would not be provided for an individual
candidate.
The use of the City Center for fund - raising activities would not be
allowed.
Elected officials, except during campaign seasons, would be allowed
use of the Council room for town meetings where the purpose is to
inform the public. No charge would be imposed for this.
For the groups now using the building who wouldn't be allowed under
this policy (i.e. TOPS and Snowmobile Club), they would be offered
the opportunity to use the lower level of the old fire hall once
proper security of other areas is achieved. Until that time, they
can continue to use the City Center in the same manner as in the
past.
The bridge club appears to have found a home at The Mayfield complex
through the generousity of Presbyterian Homes. Johanna Meath feels
that alternative is very acceptable.
Option 3 -
Allow no use of the City Center. The negative aspect of this option
would be the denial of access to the public.
Council should review the options presented, modifying and adopting
one as they feel appropriate.
Page 4
