MINUTES
PLANNING COMMISSION
August 12, 1993
get sun if trees or fencing were added along the
property line.
Keis commented that the fencing could be added around
the volleyball court area itself. Keis suggested that
10 P.M. was a good cut -off time for the games, and felt
that some limitation was needed on the number of nights
the games could be held.
Cossack replied that volleyball is not as popular as it
once was and did not believe the activity would expand
to 7 nights per week.
Drabik suggested that volleyball be limited to three
nights per week at Gordies'.
Keis recommended approval of the Conditional Use Permit
to allow commercial recreation (volleyball) at Gordies'
at 201 Little Canada Road limiting volleyball to four
nights per week, volleyball to be played no later than
10 P.M., subject to the property owner landscaping the
slope behind the volleyball court, and subject to the
recommendations of the City Planner as outlined in his
report dated August 6, 1993.
Motion seconded by Knudsen.
Motion carried 6 - 1. Drabik voted against.
PROPERTY The Commission reviewed the property division requested
DIVISION for 154 Old County Road C by Mr. Engebretson, the
154 OLD property owner. Keis asked about the Planner's
COUNTY recommendation that the lean -to on the existing garage
ROAD C be relocated.
The City Planner pointed out that there is street
right -of -way adjacent to the east property line of the
Engebretson property, therefore, a 30 -foot setback
would be required from that property line. The Planner
pointed out that the lot split request gives the City
the opportunity to address the setback issue on the
lean -to.
Schletty reported that he looked at the property and
found the lean -to to be in good condition and
well- maintained.
Knudsen agreed and pointed out that the lean -to could
not be moved to the north side of the garage since that
_ 4 s where the garage doors are. Knudsen did not support
the removal of the lean -to as a requirement of the lot
split.
Page 6
