MINUTES
PLANNING COMMISSION
August 12, 1993
units are very close to the volleyball court, and
suggested that the issue might be the time that the
games are over.
Cossack pointed out that there is not a big crowd
gathered for the volleyball games, but usually just the
players.
Jerry House, owner of unit #228 at Fluer Royal,
reported that the volleyball court was put in at
Gordies' with no opportunity for the neighbors to
discuss it. House reported that he rents the unit he
owns at Fluer Royal. About a year ago he drove by and
saw the volleyball court and was surprised that he did
not hear any complaints about it from his tenants.
However, he is now attempting to rent the unit, and has
lost one potential tenant due to the location of the
court. House reported that his biggest concern is the
geographics involved pointing out that the court is
very close to the corner of Fluer Royal.
DeLonais pointed out that the court is as far east as
it can get.
House pointed out that it is also as far north as it
can go. House was worried about the potential for more
than two nights per week of volleyball.
Keis asked how long House has owned the property with
no complaints about the volleyball.
House replied that he has owned the property for 10
years. Tenants have indicated that the noise from the
volleyball games dies down about 10 P.M. House stated
that his concern is that the volleyball court is too
close to Fluer Royal. House reported that he had a
signed lease until March of 1994, but lost that tenant
due to vandalism they experienced which they attributed
to Gordies' patrons.
Bob Doody, 179 East Little Canada Road, expressed
concern about the fill that was brought into the
Gordies' site which has not been leveled out and
landscaped.
Cossack reported that Gordies' did have a fill permit
last year and brought some material in.
Doody reported that the noise from the volleyball games
does not bother him as much as the unfinished filled
,area.
Cossack was agreeable to leveling this fill and sodding
Page 4
