MINUTES
PLANNING COMMISSION
SEPTEMBER 9, 1993
The City Planner indicated that if there was no platted
or dedicated roadway, he was not sure what the answer
was to providing access to the Reibel property.
However, if a roadway is dedicated along the property
lines as described by Reibel, the City would require
the developer to take a look at this.
Mr. DeLonais recommended that tabling action on the
preliminary plat for Canada Woods West until the
October Planning Commission meeting, and requesting
that prior to that meeting questions on utilities, park
charges, the road issue as raised by adjacent property
owners, the issue of landlocking property be researched
and reported on, with the indication to the developer
that the Commission may act on both the preliminary
plat and final plat at the October meeting.
Motion seconded by Keis.
Motion carried 5 - 0.
PUD Mr. Todd Jones, Two S Properties, appeared before the
AMENDMENT Commission requesting an amendment to PUD to allow the
TWO S construction of an additional mini - storage building on
PROPERTIES the site. The property in question is the Minnesota
Mini - Storage site at 55 East County Road B. Jones
reported that the additional mini - storage building is
the final phase of the development of the site. The
structure proposed would be single- story, masonry, 100
feet by 140 feet.
DeLonais asked if the location of the proposed building
is where there are now vans parked on the site.
Jones replied that that was correct. Most of the vans
will be removed from the site, however, the Summit
Transit vans will remain as Summit Transit is renting
office space at Minnesota Mini - Storage.
Jones reported that the new building would be a heated
mini - storage building. The inside of the building
would be cut up into individual units from 5 feet by 5
feet to 10 foot by 30 foot in size. Jones reported
that the existing PUD refers to the development of two
future buildings. However, that is being amended to
one larger building. The two buildings proposed would
have consisted of 12,400 square feet, while the revised
plan for one building is 15,400 square feet.
Jones reported that Minnesota Mini - Storage has been a
good neighbor for the community. Jones did not believe
the proposal provided any negative impact to the
neighbors or the City, and pointed out that the site is
Page 4
