Hanson
COUNCIL
Beverly Scalze
Jim LaValle
Steve Morelan
Bob Pedersen
ADMINISTRATOR
Joel R. Hanson
Upon review of our current dog /cat licensing procedure, we
discovered the following information:
License Fee - The bi- annual license fee of $10 should
be changed to $15. Upon surveying our neighboring
cities, we found that they charged slightly less than
what we are proposing. However, we felt this change
was needed to cover the administrative costs and costs
of the tags. Each tag currently costs the City $2.15.
License Renewal Fee - The current renewal fee of $4
should be the same as the original license fee since it
is just as much work to process a renewal. Therefore,
the wording pertaining to renewal could be dropped from
the ordinance.
Replacement Cost for Lost Tag - The current cost for
replacement of a lost tag is $2.50. We would like this
amount changed to $5.00 to cover the cost of the tag
and our administrative costs.
I have attached an ordinance reflecting the above mentioned
changes and request that the Council adopt them.
kpv
Enclosure
Page 39
