MINUTES
PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION
OCTOBER 3, 2013
there was a value of $40,000, as an example, that money could he directed
to help pay for the warming house project.
The Director stated that he is not sure what the value of this property
would be. He also noted that acquiring the property to expand the back
yard was not a necessity to the use of 97 Maple Lane. The Director agreed
that selling the property would negatively impact the City's ability to
soften the grade of the existing trail, if at some time in the future the trail
needs to be reconstructed. Given the slope of the property in this area, it
would be necessary to move the trail to the west to improve the grade.
Vang felt it was only worth considering the sale of all or a portion of this
property if the City could get significant dollars for it.
Vang recommended against the sale of the City property as requested by
the owner of 97 Maple Lane.
Motion seconded by Fahey.
Motion carried 4 — 0.
MARKET The Director reported that the next Market Place Morning Talk will be
PLACE held on Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. The topic is "Tips for
MORNING a Better Night's Sleep ".
TALKS
MN WILD The Director reported that the Parks & Recreation Department is hosting
HOCKEY a MN Wild Hockey Bus Trip on Friday, November 1, 2013.
