DATE: May 12, 1994
TO: Little Canada Planning Commission
FROM: Gary Quam
SUBJECT: Little Canada - Quam CUP File No. 758.09 - 94.09
In reference to Mr. Grittman's May 9th planning report he is correct
in that a front yard setback variance is required to place the garage
structure where it is shown on the plot plan. I positioned the garage in
line with the new home recently built on the adjacent property and
incorrectly assumed it met the required setbacks. The variance is requested
to allow construction of the garage without removing two large oak trees.
I disagree with Mr. Grittman's recommendation to not approve the CUP
due to the possibility of setting a dangerous precedent since it appears
the precedent has already been set by allowing the variance on the adjacent
property. Therefore I respectfully request that the Conditional Use Permit
be approved so I may be afforded equal privileges granted to the adjacent
property owner.
Page 35
