NORTHWEST YOUTH & FAMILY SERVICES (NYFS) <br />1993 SERVICE PARTICIPATION SUMMARY <br />FOR THE: <br />CITY OF LITTLE CANADA <br />Your city's contribution to the work of NYFS has once again made it possible for NYFS to offer <br />help and hope to over 3,400 north suburban residents. In 1993, 510 local youth and families <br />received mental health services and 34 young fathers received help which enabled them to <br />emotionally and financially support their children. In addition, 246 first -time youth offenders <br />completed community service restitution, 171 youth attended Awareness seminars, and 89 youth <br />received delinquency assessments. A total of 265 youth received employment services, 354 youth <br />received medical services, and 478 youth provided volunteer service to the community through <br />the Youth Service Learning project. <br />Although the needs of individual cities vary year to year, the need for the services provided by <br />NYFS remains constant. Your participation makes it possible for NYFS to offer these essential <br />services. <br />LITTLE CANADA <br />*EACH SERVICE IS BILLED AT A DIFFERENT RATE PER HOUR. SEE BELOW FOR DETAILS. <br />Counseling/Mental Health Services: Each client is seen an average of 8 . one hour sessions and one-2 hour intake <br />appointment totalling 10 hours of service per client. Each service hour is charged out at a rate of 590 /per hour. Billable Service Hours are <br />reflected in above grid. <br />. Young Fathers Program: The Young Fathers program seeks to assist young men, up to age 23, in their role as fathers. The <br />program provides support, information, referrals, parent education and vocational assessment through group or individual, couple and family <br />consultation. Each participant receives an average of 12 hours of group or individual counseling and support services in addition to 5 hours of <br />vocational/educational services. Cost per hour of service is 555. <br />Conununity Restitution Services: Youths are placed on job sites within their home communities and each complete <br />approximately 20 volunteer service restitution hours. Cost per hour of service is about 540.00.
